Two week recap!

The last couple of weeks since we first launched our private beta have been hectic. Our inboxes have filled up with requests and ideas, praises and bug reports. These are exciting times, and we are genuinely happy right now. I’d love to talk a little bit about the last few things we’ve done in our beta, as a bit of a recap of the last couple of weeks. Consider this a captain’s log:

A few of the recent changes

• Better profiles: now you can link directly to your activity, wish list or purchase, which makes it much easier to share any of these pages with your friends.
• Explore pages: browsing the things people have been adding to bling is now, well, pretty. If you have an account, click here to see the explore pages.
• People search: Following and finding people is now easier. You can use our search field to find people as well as products – it even autocompletes with people’s names.
• A better notification system: The new notifications page lets you keep track of what’s happening in your purchases and wishes, as well as what’s happening on the things you like throughout the site. Your notifications are always available at this url.
• Add photos by URL: Many of you have been asking for a way to add photos to purchases and wishes from an image URL instead of having to upload from your own computer. That’s now available, so check out the updated “Add Bling” form.
• User bios: You can now add a short bio to your profile, which is shown under your name. In order to change your bio, see your settings page.

There are a lot more changes under the hood in preparation for the launch of a couple of big things we’re about to roll out. Keep an eye on this blog for updates. Those of you who have been asking for mobile apps in order to bling from the road are also in luck – they’re almost here.
